Dr. Lisa Trout (she/her), DVM
Dr. Lisa Trout grew up in eastern Pennsylvania, surrounded by a variety of different animals. She completed her undergraduate degree at Delaware Valley University in Small Animal Science, and later attended Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She’s had a diverse veterinary career spanning from working alongside exotic companion animals and wildlife to general practice and emergency medicine, leading her to Small Door. Lisa continues to strive to learn more each day in order to provide the best level of care and medicine possible. She maintains the belief in the importance of creating a low stress environment for pets and closely involving owners in the conversation about their pet's health. When Lisa isn’t working, she likes to volunteer her time by helping to support wildlife rehabilitation courses, in addition to reading, crafting, hiking, camping, tending to (a couple dozen) house plants, playing video games as her cat Twix watches on unimpressed and spending time with friends. She also has a small freshwater aquarium with ember tetra and a few shrimp.
