Dr. Jaime Venezia (she/her), DVM
Originally from New Jersey, Dr. Jaime Venezia brings a wealth of knowledge and a deep commitment to the well-being of animals to Small Door. She holds a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from Cornell University, in addition to a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree at Rutgers University. Prior to her extensive veterinary education, Dr. Jaime completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science at The George Washington University.Jaime’s practice philosophy centers around the profound human-animal bond; she understands that this bond is essential to both pet owners and their beloved companions. Therefore, she places a strong emphasis on empathy, respect, and clear communication with pet owners. Building trust with pet owners is a cornerstone of her approach to successful veterinary care. Jaime is also a staunch advocate for involving pet owners in every step of the treatment plan, ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed as they embark on the healing journey. Her particular interests within veterinary medicine include nutrition, dermatology, and internal medicine. She also possesses a heartfelt passion for geriatric medicine and palliative care, demonstrating her commitment to enhancing the quality of life for senior pets.
Beyond her veterinary profession, Jaime is a dedicated runner with a special love for the challenging world of ultra-running. She routinely participates in races exceeding the traditional marathon distance, such as 50 and 100-mile events. Additionally, she has a soft spot for Pomeranians, but has a genuine love for pets of all sizes.
