Dr. Jamie Richardson (she/her), BVetMed, USDA Accredited
Jamie serves as Small Door’s Head of Veterinary Medicine. A native of the Hudson Valley, Jamie graduated from St. Lawrence University with a BS in Biology and Chemistry. After completing her undergraduate studies, Jamie moved to the UK to pursue a veterinary degree from London’s prestigious Royal Veterinary College.Jamie has followed her passion for veterinary medicine around the globe. After completing her veterinary degree, Jamie volunteered at IFAW’s CLAW animal clinic, in Soweto township, Johannesburg, South Africa, where she provided veterinary care and supported community outreach projects. Jamie later accepted a position as an Associate Veterinarian at the SPCA Hong Kong, where she moved with her (now) husband, Martin. During her time at the SPCA, Jamie gained valuable experience in shelter medicine, emergency and critical care, and the management of complex medical and surgical cases. Jamie rose through the ranks to become Assistant Senior Veterinary Surgeon at SPCA. After four years in Hong Kong, Jamie moved to the Island of Bermuda, where she accepted a senior position at Endsmeet Animal Hospital. She worked at Endsmeet for nearly five years.
While she thrives in all aspects of general practice, Jamie has particular interests in preventative care, dentistry, and internal medicine; particularly endocrine and metabolic disease. Outside of work, Jamie enjoys traveling, hiking, and outdoor adventures with her two dogs, Ralph and Freddie. Jamie believes in an integrative approach to veterinary care, built upon a foundation of trust and collaboration to empower owners to make the best health decisions for their pets.
