Dr. Heidi Heller (she/her), DVM, CCRP, USDA Accredited
Dr. Heidi Heller has always been an animal lover – she was just 8 years old when she decided she wanted to become a veterinarian. She began volunteering at a mixed animal clinic at the age of 10, and continued working as a veterinary assistant throughout her teen years.A native of the metro DC area, Heidi graduated from The Madeira School and attended the University Of Maryland where she gained her bachelor’s degree in Animal Science. She received her veterinary degree from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine, and later studied to become a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner (CCRP) at the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine.
Heidi has practiced general medicine and surgery at a number of veterinary clinics in Maryland, West Virginia and Washington DC, including running a rehabilitation unit for several years. She takes a special interest in wellness and preventative care, internal medicine, soft tissue surgery and dentistry. She is also keenly focused on pain management and the orthopedic health and fitness of her patients – she believes that when our pets are healthy, comfortable and fit, they keep us healthy, active and fit too!
Outside of work, Heidi likes to spend time outdoors amongst the trees or on the water, hiking, paddle-boarding, boating, wine-tasting, exploring new restaurants, catching live music with friends or just lazily binging shows with her beloved pets, Chicken (a dog) and Louie (a cat).
Special Interests: General practice, wellness and preventative medicine, internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, dentistry, and pain management.
