Dr. Abigail Carr (she/her), DVM

Dr. Abigail Carr is native New Yorker, and works part-time as a Senior Veterinarian at Small Door’s NYC practices. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Smith College and her veterinary degree from Cornell University.

After graduating, Abigail completed an intensive 6 month ER training program at a specialty practice in New Jersey, and then stayed on as a staff ER doctor in their 24-hour emergency room. During her time in New Jersey, she gained extensive experience treating complex cases and worked closely with a team of specialists. Since returning to the city, she has worked as a general practitioner in Brooklyn and Manhattan.

Abigail takes a particular interest in managing endocrine (hormonal) disorders, and working with owners to maintain their pet's quality of life as they age.

Outside of work, Abigail enjoys traveling, swimming and spending time with her family. She has two geriatric dogs and a tortoise.

Special Interests: General practice, emergency/urgent care, endocrine disorders, and maintaining quality of life in aging pets.
